Tunnel width
Standard width of 5m.

Width of tunnel and including yard
Needs about 9 m of clear depths.

Length
Any lengths from 10 m (2 ½ pens) upwards to whatever lengths required.

Height
2.3m high overall, with a clear head height of 1.85m (horizontal member of Hoops).

Structure
The main structural parts are all in steel and hot-dip galvanized after manufacturing, ensuring long live. The Tensioning rods and Turnbuckles are all manufactured in stainless steel to ensure extended trouble-free use of all threaded and moveable parts.

Film Fastening System
We only use the highest spec’d 3-component film fastening system “Duralock 2” designed for high wind-load applications. It consists of an aluminum profile and a full-length PVC channel and capping bead

Plastic Film Cover
Covered with a tough 210micron layer of greenhouse grade polyethylene film

Ground anchoring
FlexiTunnels are secured to the ground with our unique screw anchor system. Every single Hoop is secured with a pair of anchors that are 'screwed' into the ground with the supplied T-Tool. The 600mm long anchors have been tested and can each resist close to 1000kg of pull in average soil conditions.

End Portals
The End Portals in the calf rearing tunnels are closed and have no opening (doors or windows).

Ventilation
All ventilation that is ever needed is coming from the full length side opening out through to the pens.

Yard and pen dimensions
Pen sizes are 4m by 8m (half pens 2m by 8m). Each tunnel has a number of full pens and always ends up with one half-pen. The yards (pens) are made up of a number of Gate Units and are held together by 3-way Stands and U-Hooks

Gate Unit dimensions
Full gates are 4m by 90cm high and half gates are 2m by 90cm

Gate Unit structure
All steel hot-dipped galvanized after manufacturing.

Stock density per pen
The design capacity is 20 calves per pen, but this does not imply to be the perfect number of calves per pen.
